Tony Jackson Jr. returned behind the wheel of his Willard Quarries No. 56 Late Model on Thursday afternoon at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) as the 17th annual Knoxville Nationals presented by Brandt got underway. Drawing 48 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Jackson Jr. secured his spot into the $7,000-to-win preliminary feature with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. With his preliminary results relegating him into the B-Main on Saturday, Jackson Jr. streaked to a 15-lap consolation victory, which positioned him 25th on the starting grid for the $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals. Pulling off early in the 100-lapper to save equipment, Tony headed pitside on lap 25.
