Fourth-place finish in Hell Tour debut at Davenport

Making his debut with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Tony Jackson Jr. invaded Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon for the ninth round of the Hell Tour. Drawing a stacked field of 35 competitors, Jackson Jr. followed up the third fastest time in his group with a 10-lap heat race victory. With the redraw placing him on the pole for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Tony paced the field for the first 11 circuits until fellow front-row starter Bobby Pierce wrestled way the top spot. On Friday evening at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) for the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) sanctioned opener, Tony secured his spot into the main event with a third-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line, Jackson Jr. jumped up one spot to finish sixth.

Wrapping up the Fourth of July weekend on Saturday, Jackson Jr. stopped at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa). With 24 Late Models entered, Jackson Jr. clocked in second fastest in his group before picking up a heat race win. Earning the second-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Tony led the first five laps before handing the top spot to Garrett Alberson. He ended up fifth in the 40-lap affair, following Alberson, Jeremiah Hurst, Billy Moyer Jr., and Tad Pospisil across the line.

Tony holds a 205-point advantage over Garrett Alberson atop the MLRA point standings.
